Geometry renderer

This is the documentation for Enlighten.

    Geometry renderer

    Nov 21, 2019

The Geometry renderer displays scene geometry.

    Geometry renderer modes

    Wireframe

The scene is rendered in monochrome wireframe.

    Geometry

The scene is rendered in monochrome with wireframe overlay.

    Mesh elements

Render mesh elements (tri-lists) in false colour.

    Systems

Each system is rendered in a random solid colour, shaded to expose detail. Dynamic objects are blue.

    Instance types

Render instances in colours depending on their type:

    • Light blue = Radiosity
    • Turquoise = SSD
    • Red = Fully dynamic
    • Light green = Probe radiosity
    • Grey = Auto

    Normals

Per-pixel world space normals are displayed. If the surface lacks a normal map, a checkerboard pattern is displayed.

    Tangents

    Render world space tangents.

    Binormals

    Render world space binormals.

    Normal Delta

Displays the difference between per-pixel world space geometry normals and the computed surface normal of each triangle.

    • Green represents a small difference; yellow represents a significant difference. This may indicate an error in the geometry.
    • If a surface has incorrect normals (vertex normals or normal map values), Normal Delta mode will often highlight this issue.

    Normal Map

Displays geometry normal maps in tangent space. If a normal map does not exist, the geometry is displayed as a solid Cyan colour.

    Albedo

The albedo colour / texture of the geometry is displayed.

    Emissive

Renders all geometry with its emissive material attribute as colour. Geometries with non-emissive materials are rendered as black.

    Albedo Texture

The computed albedo texture used for radiosity is displayed. This option is only available when Texture Albedo is selected on the Radiosity tab.

    Bake Albedo Texture

The albedo texture used for baking is displayed.

    UV 0 (Source)

Albedo (texture coordinate set 0) is displayed.

    UV 1 (Atlassed)

Input charting (texture coordinate set 1) is displayed.

    UV 2 (Radiosity)

Radiosity (texture coordinate set 2) is displayed.

    UV 3 (Baking)

Baking (texture coordinate set 3) is displayed.
