    Light sources

    Dec 22, 2020

We recommend a workflow where the artist add and changes each light source in the editing tools and sees the indirect lighting update in real time.

With the ability to change the lighting in game, it's important to provide tools to script or animate the behaviour of each light source in the game.

Enlighten provides indirect lighting for any type of light source placed in the world. Each light source can be modelled as a point or a surface, and may or may not cast shadows.

To model sky lighting, Enlighten uses an environment light source. This represents light emitted by an infinitely distant sphere surrounding the world. This could be an image captured from a photograph or a procedurally generated sky.
